2020 TRAILBLAZER IN NORTH CAROLINA

Monroe, NC- UDI is excited to announce that David Casper III, executive director of Union Diversified Industries, Inc., has received the honor of being recognized as a 2020 Trail Blazer by Business North Carolina.  This award is given to a select group of thriving professionals under the age of 40 who work in North Carolina cities and towns that have fewer than 100,000 residents.

We celebrate David as one of two award recipients selected to represent Union County in this competitive category.  As a non-profit executive, David was chosen for his professional success here at UDI, his commitment to Union County progress as well as his passion for civic service.  He takes pride in using his time and talent to help others and is actively involved with the local chapter of the Monroe Rotary and the Union County Boys and Girls Club, serving as a board member for the Rotary and an Advisory Committee member for the Boys and Girls Club.  David is also active in the Union County Chamber of Commerce and his local church.  As an extension of his passion for helping others, David collaborates with other community members and the staff at the Alliance for Children to ensure that all local children and their parents have the opportunity for literacy.

When David joined UDI at the end of 2017, he saw the gap between the developmental disability community and the greater community of Union County.  Since day one, he has worked to close that gap and as a result, our organization and our county look much different.  Being recognized by Business North Carolina confirms what we have known since meeting David- our organization and community needs his visionary leadership, appreciates his passion for individuals with developmental disabilities, and desires to support and celebrate the impact he continues to make.
