Excellence in Business Award (Non-Profit Innovation)
Monroe, NC- December 3, 2021. Union Diversified Industries, an organization that supports adults with developmental disabilities, announced today that it was named the winner of the Union County Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business Award for Non-Profit Innovation. According to the UC Chamber President, this award is always hotly contested and UDI winning reaffirms to the community that UDI services enhance lives across all spectrums of Union County.
“It is an honor to receive such a prestigious recognition,” said David Casper, UDI Chief Executive Officer. “We strive to make a difference each day in the lives of those we support and in the local business community though our unique model of service delivery. Our hybrid company helps adults with developmental disabilities learn in many settings including working to earn a living. The individuals we support report enjoying a productive and meaningful life while also helping local manufacturers find dependable and feasible solutions for their outsourcing needs.”
Entries for the award are nominated by community members and finalists are selected by an independent panel of community leaders. When UDI was named as the winner in the Non-Profit Category it joined a small, but mighty group of companies in Union County as Excellence in Business Award winners for 2021. UDI has been around for over 50 years and to be acknowledged as a company still on the cutting edge of innovation for non-profits is an immense statement about UDI’s willingness to challenge the norm and facilitate meaningful lives for adults with developmental disabilities.
Accepting the award for UDI was Mr. Scott Garwood who started with UDI over 30 years ago as a client. After successfully completing his services, UDI choose to hire Scott as in his current role as Production Technician. “I enjoy UDI,” Scott said. “I love my work and I am proud to be a part of the team!”
